I’m going to go out on a limb and say that “The Awakening” director Nick Murphy’s dark detective movie “Blood” isn’t going to end well for Paul Bettany’s character. It’s definitely not going to end well for Stephen Graham’s, by the looks of it. It might end okay for Mark Strong’s character, though, since he didn’t just brain a suspec with a shovel … while the suspect was buried in dirt. Nothing good ever comes from braining people with a shovel, I always say. Unless, of course, he had it coming. Even so, consequences and all that. Ugh. Who needs the hassle?
Check out the first trailer for Murphy’s “Blood”. The film opened in the UK last month, and shows up Stateside in a few months.
When a shocking murder is committed in their small town, the Fairburn brothers (Paul Bettany and Stephen Graham) are detectives who will do whatever it takes to catch the killer and try to live-up to the reputation of their tough-as-nails ex-police chief father (Brian Cox). But when a suspect’s interrogation spins violently out of control, the brothers must deal with the consequences…and the mounting suspicions of a colleague (Mark Strong) seeking the truth. A gritty, electrifying suspense-thriller about the price of duty, the ties of family, and the bonds of Blood.
Starring Paul Bettany, Stephen Graham, Mark Strong, and Brian Cox.
There is blood this August 9, 2013.
