Paul Walker and David Belle Team up For Brick Mansions Trailer

I can’t help but get a little sad watching this very kick-ass, off-the-wall, and completely ludicrous trailer for Camille Delamarre’s “Brick Mansions,” the Luc Besson-backed remake of Besson’s on “District 13″ French action franchise. The remake stars Paul Walker, and, well, watching him still in his prime in what will probably be a pretty good-sized hit is a little sad. This is one of those movies that will no doubt spawn a franchise. Or at least, it was.

Check out the first trailer for “Brick Mansions.” It’s as colorful and crazy as you might expect, so if you’re a fan of the original films, this is basically the same movie, but with a Hollywood gloss.

In a dystopian Detroit, abandoned brick mansions left from better times now house only the most dangerous criminals. Unable to control the crime, the police constructed a colossal containment wall around this area to protect the rest of the city. For undercover cop Damien Collier (Paul Walker) every day is a battle against corruption. For Lino (David Belle), every day is a fight to live an honest life. Their paths never should have crossed, but when drug kingpin, Tremaine (RZA) kidnaps Lino’s girlfriend, Damien reluctantly accepts the help of the fearless ex-convict, and together they must stop a sinister plot to devastate the entire city. With stylized action featuring thrilling Parkour stunts (David Belle is the co-founder of this physical training discipline), Brick Mansions puts an entertaining twist on the action genre.

Starring Paul Walker, David Belle, and RZA.

Parkourin’ it this April 25th.

wow.. this looks a LOT like the original, including the bomb/missile, the guy falling down after failing to grab belle and the big guy who ate a brick to his head i believe… well, i’m pleasantly surprised david belle plays in it since he’s the real deal when it comes to parkour.

It does indeed, with some added stuff to boot. There’s some change, with it being Belle’s Girlfriend this time instead of sister but it still looks pretty good, and it also looks like Walker will be doing a bit of parkour himself, morseso than his French counterpart in the original.
