Paul Walker Updates Fast and Furious 5

The Fast and Furious 5 Movie — By Nix on July 30, 2009

Okay, so this is less of an update than a rehashing of what we already know: Paul Walker, out promoting his National Geographic series Expedition Great White, was asked about “The Fast and Furious” franchise, specifically the status of the fifth one. Walker says that Universal Studios definitely wants another one (the last installment made over $349 million worldwide, including $155 million in the States), and according to Walker, people who write scripts are writing a script for the fifth one as they speak.

Walker also reiterates to SciFiWire (why a site for science fiction is asking about a car movie is a mystery only the cosmos can answer) what he’s said before, that he believes the fifth one will take the car racing crew to Brazil.

As soon as they bust Dominic out of prison, that is. As you’ll recall, the final scene of “The Fast and Furious 4″ had Walker’s Brian O’Conner effectively ditching his FBI gig, and along with Jordana Brewster’s character, literally racing to save Dominic (Vin Diesel’s character) from a stint in federal prison.

So yeah, no real new news, but Walker is certain a fifth one is coming, and who can blame him? $349 million worldwide, not counting DVD and other ancillary sales, speaks volumes.

Below: Jordana Brewster is ready for part five. We’re also ready for more Jordana. You can never get too much Jordana.
