Well, she runs from killers, but she doesn’t actually engage in a whole lot in terms of the actual act of running, I mean. Mind you, not that it matters. The trailer for Paz Vega’s “Cat Run” looks pleasantly amusing, if a tad overly contrived. What exactly are two American wannabe P.I.’s doing in an Eastern European country, for instance? Kinda hard to earn a living that way, I would imagine. And where does a U.S. Senator fit in again? Last I heard, U.S. Senators didn’t need to fly across the ocean to get high-priced hookers. Er, I mean, call girls. Anyways, enjoy the trailer for a movie that will probably end up being a promising diversion on DVD.
Anthony always dreamed of being a famous chef. Julian only thought about women. With neither really working out, the childhood best friends decide to start a detective agency. Unfortunately for them, on their first case they must help protect a sexy, high class escort who holds the key evidence to a scandalous cover up. The two bumbling detectives soon find themselves running from the mob, a corrupt US Senator, and a ruthless Mary Poppins-like assassin – all of whom would stop at nothing to hide the truth. It’s just an average day for two bumbling losers.
Starring Paz Vega, Janet McTeer, Christopher McDonald, Tony Curran, Scott Mechlowicz, DL Hughley and directed by John Stockwell.
Running April 1, 2011.
