The boys have gone pretty much ignored in the two previously released clips for “The Hunger Games”, the Gary Ross film deciding to focus instead on its heroine, Jennifer Lawrence’s Katniss. And justifiably so, since the story is told exclusively from her point of view in the books, though of course you won’t be able to pull that myopic perspective off in the movies. Yes, we’ll finally see how the games are run, whereas in the books stuff just sorta, well, happen.
So here’s your first clip featuring one of the boys, Josh Hutcherson, playing Peeta, the unlucky (or is that lucky?) lad who gets to participate in the Hunger Games with Katniss. Okay, so maybe “get to” is not the correct phrasing. He’s forced to, I guess would be more appropriate.
In the new clip, Peeta expresses his love for a certain girl while doing an interview with Stanley Tucci, as Lawrence and Woody Harrelson, as the duo’s mentor, look on. I’m going to go out on a limb and say that the expression on Katniss’ face is one of shock there at the end.
Also starring Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks, Donald Sutherland, Lenny Kravitz, Wes Bentley, Toby Jones, Amandla Stenberg, Alexander Ludwig, Isabelle Fuhrman, Jacqueline Emerson, Paula Malcomson, Dayo Okeniyi, Jack Quaid, Leven Rambin, and Willow Shields.
