Following up on those new “Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters” pics that we posted this morning, here is the second trailer for the film, directed by the awesomely named Thor Freudenthal. Honestly, I’m not sure if you’re going to buy this sequel if you weren’t already sold on the franchise after the first movie, because it looks like a pretty straightforward continuation. I thought the first movie was okay myself. Decent teenager fare, but nothing overly special. Your mileage may vary, of course. In any case, take a gander at the second trailer for “Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters”.

As an aside, I still can’t believe co-star Alexandra Daddario (above) is playing a teenager here (her character is a teenager, right?), while she played an incredibly convincing grown woman in the first few seasons of “White Collar” just a few years ago. Which basically means she’s actually getting younger roles as she gets older. How crazy is that?

Based on the best-selling book, PERCY JACKSON: SEA OF MONSTERS continues the young demigod’s epic journey to fulfill his destiny. To save their world, Percy and his friends must find the fabled and magical Golden Fleece. Embarking on a treacherous odyssey into the uncharted waters of the Sea of Monsters (known to humans as the Bermuda Triangle), they battle terrifying creatures, an army of zombies, and the ultimate Evil.

Starring Logan Lerman, Brandon T. Jackson, Alexandra Daddario, Sean Bean, Nathan Fillion, Stanley Tucci, Jake Abel, Missi Pyle, Daniel Cudmore, Leven Rambin, Anthony Head.

Golden toros attack this August 7, 2013.
