Pirates’ Orlando Bloom Replacement Sam Claflin Lands Princely Role

Universal’s “Snow White and the Huntsman” has found its prince in Sam Claflin. You probably don’t recall the name just yet, but he’s the Orlando Bloom replacement in the latest “Pirates of the Caribbean” movie, where Claflin is filling the “young lovebirds” quotient that Bloom and Keira Knightley left behind when they departed. (Filling the female half is French actress Astrid Berges-Frisbey.)

Claflin will be playing the Prince opposite Kristen Stewart’s Snow White, but since the title of the movie is “Snow White and the Huntsman” and not “Snow White and the Prince”, it’s a sure bet that he’s probably not going to get the girl. Last we heard, “Thor’s” Chris Hemsworth was being offered the Huntsman role after a deal with Viggo Mortensen fell through and Hugh Jackman turned it down.

Rupert Sanders is directing the re-imagining of the fairytale for Universal, with Charlize Theron also in the cast as the evil Queen.
