As long as the Red Dawn remake keeps the original patriotic feel of the original
the film will do fine. I think they made the right decision to show the invader being the Chinese. Whether anyone wants to believe it or not, CHINA is an economic and military superpower. And yes they could be a HUGE threat to the USA, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan. CHINA has the largest military in the world. And it is well armed,trained,and supplied. If anyone watched the recent military parade CHINA had with its anniversary celebration, you can clearly see CHINA is not one to take lightly, or to underestimate. CHINA also very dangerous with its cyberwarfare capabilities. Its naval forces are also a growing threat. China will have an aircraft carrier or two before long. where it lacks in aircraft carriers, it makes up for in submarines, and also anti-naval missles that can be launched from mainland China into waters around Taiwan, South Korea and Japan.
Not to mention that China also has nuclear missles that can hit the US. And just for an added bonus the Chinese also hold trillions of dollars in US debt. To make a long story short, CHINA is a major adversary to the United States. So the Red Dawn remake is spot on for making China the invader.

Gee, I’m so worried about this really happening.

I was really worried on Saturday while was having my BIG MAC at McDONALDS.

And today when I was having a coffee at STARBUCKS.

Maybe tomorrow when I go buy stuff at WALMART, I will worry about it even more.

And the next day when I to the movie theater to watch a HOLLOYWOOD MOVIE.

I will worry myself silly about a Chinese invasion as I drive aroud in my FORD.

And I will do all of these things in the city I live in – BEIJING!!! (Uh, that’s a city in China – in case you were wondering.)

Unfortunaely, this is where many Americans will get there info about the world – a stupid Hollywood movie.

I loved the original, and was one of my fav movies for years (till Braveheart I think). I can only ask the Hollywood doesnt stuff this one up with all there left wing jargon garbage. They will piss alot people off it they try and get one of the anti US agendas included into the film. But I can only hope that it stays true to the original and I cant wait to see it.

A fictional movie about China/Russia invading the USA has to demonstrate reality?? Its so sad that people actually view America as the bad guy getting what they deserve by being invaded by China and Russia. So the truth is America is to blame for getting invaded… LAME…LAME…and uh…..LAME. The 1980s were so different, really the last decade before the PC liberal socialist agenda started to take hold. Its a shame that so many have bought into all the conspiracy theories that portray America in a bad light…The original Red Dawn was a good movie. The Americans were the good guys and the Soviets and Cubans were the bad guys..its that simple. The Remake should be the same. Not some liberal agendas lies of “were sorry we cant help that we are Americans” we deserve to be invaded, please dont be offended if we actually resist the invasion, we are partially to blame because we are Americans, we are evil blah blah blah… utter LIBERAL GARBAGE.. keep the liberal BS lies out of the Red Dawn reamke. I agree…if it demonstrates reality it will likely not do well at the box office. What country likes to see themselves as partially to blame for anything? Better that Hollywood make movies that lie in favor of national pride than tell the truth and lose money. Making money, after all, is what the world is about.

This movie should be good. But if they go in the “it’s America’s fault” direction it wont do so well at the boxoffice. This movie could make a ton of money. Everyone will go see a movie about the Russians and Chinese invading the
Red White and Blue. If it’s done the right way. Hope Kurt Russell is in the remake.

It certainly would make more sense to make a movie about how the American people rebelled against our own liberal, no…socialist, no…communist leadership because they continually stole our freedoms. The catalyst would be when they ban guns from the people.

Oy, as if the original 80’s cheesefest wasn’t bad enough?

I laughed long and hard at that movie back in the 80’s. The notion that the Soviet’s could support 60 mechanized divisions in daily combat across Siberia, the Bering Strait and Canada was one of the least egregious howlers from that piece of dreck.

Now they want us to buy the premise that China would destroy their own economy by invading the US, the biggest recipient of Chinese exports? It’d be hilarious, if it wasn’t so sad.

Granted, there will be a few folks who can’t see past the reality-ignoring blind jingoism of either film and consider them great. Each to their own.

They’re gonna ruin it because the whole point was to show America’s will power and honor to their country, and nwo they’re chanign teh characters by making Jed a marine? I don’t think it’s a good idea because Jed is supposed to be a teenager, struggling just like rest of them, and even though he is the oldest, he shows that he’s still innocent throughout the moive because he has a hard time killing people, I mean, if they make him a marine…well he wont be the same character.

The original is perfect the way it is?

I am ok with the Chinese/Russian element but not the Asian/Black part. This is set in the middle of the mountains of Colorado. I doubt the group there in the country would be that diverse and I see no reason why it should be. Plus, Josh Peck? Come on. A Nick kids actor at a high school QB star. Terrible!
