Paul W.S. Anderson’s “Pompeii” is loading up on the ladies.
The historical love story/action film (or as “historical” as you can possibly get when Paul W.S. Anderson is calling the shots behind the camera, ahem) has now added two new names to the cast list: former “Matrix” gal Carrie-Anne Moss and current “Evil Dead” gal Jessica Lucas have joined the cast.
“Pompeii” will star “Game of Thrones'” Kit Harington as Milo, a slave-turned-invincible gladiator who finds himself in a race against time to save his true love Flavia (Emily Browning), the beautiful daughter of a wealthy merchant (played by Jared Harris) who has been betrothed to a corrupt Roman General (Jack Bauer himself, Kiefer Sutherland).
All of this while Mt. Vesuvius is set to erupt behind them and, yes, put a damper on that whole love stuff.
Carrie-Anne Moss is set to play Flavia’s mother in the film. Yes, Trinity from “The Matrix” films is now playing people’s mothers in movies. Oh, how time flies. Well, at least she’s still playing a hot babe on the TV show “Vegas”.
Lucas, meanwhile, will play the slave friend/confidant to Flavia. She can currently be seen on the CW’s “Cult” and in theaters with the weekend’s #1 film, “Evil Dead”.
