(Possible) First Look at Tom Hardy as Mad Max

This being the Interwebs, this may or may not be your first unofficial look at Tom Hardy as Max Rockatansky, otherwise known to his friends and enemies as post-apocalyptic badass Mad Max. The pic comes from AICN via a Twitter follower.

If it is Hardy as Mad Max, he looks more like a Special Forces badass than a post-apocalyptic survivor. He also looks a lot like Kevin Costner in “The Postman”, to be perfectly honest with you. Mind you, not that that’s a bad thing. And wasn’t Mad Max supposed to have a big ol bushy beard?

Hardy is currently shooting “Mad Max: Fury Road”, the fourth film in the series by director George Miller. He is, of course, famously taking over for Mel Gibson. The film also stars Nicholas Hoult, Charlize Theron, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Zoë Kravitz, Riley Keough, Nathan Jones, Abbey Lee, and Megan Gale.

It’s scheduled to battle into theaters sometime in 2013. Probably.

    Looks good. Although, I would have liked Cam Gigadnet in the role. He’s a deadringer for a young Mel Gibson.

      True. I think the pic is lit bad, cause if that’s the Road Warrior leather jacket then its enough of a connective tissue for me!

        I’m sure it’ll be cool. The cast so dfar is very good and the premise sounds solid.
