Poster for the Spierig Brothers’ Oft-Delayed Daybrakers

So how late is Aussie siblings Michael and Peter Spierig’s futuristic vampire movie “Daybreakers”? I started covering the film in 2007, and had set it for 2008, and it’s now 2009. According to AICN, who scored the exclusive to the first poster for the movie, “Daybreakers” won’t be arriving in theaters early 2010 courtesy of Lionsgate. Check out the poster for the film below. Still no word on a trailer, though…

In the year 2017, a plague has transformed most every human into vampires. Faced with a dwindling blood supply, the fractured dominant race plots their survival; meanwhile, a researcher works with a covert band of vamps on a way to save humankind.

Starring Ethan Hawke, Willem Dafoe, Sam Neill, Isabel Lucas, Vince Colosimo, Jay Laga’aia, Claudia Karvan, Christopher Kirby, Michael Dorman, Mungo McKay, Emma Randall, and written and directed by Michael Spierig and Peter Spierig (“Undead”).

The day breaks January 8, 2010.
