If anyone other than Lucky McKee (“May,” “The Woman”) was involved with the upcoming horror flick “All Cheerleaders Die,” then I’d probably dismiss it altogether with a snarky remark. Since I love the filmmaker’s work, I’m pretty excited to see what he and co-director Chris Sivertson have put together. Unless the title is completely misleading, chances are a few cheerleaders are going to die. That’s just a hunch.

The official synopsis puts a finer point on it:

Teenage outsider Maddy is keeping some dark secrets and holding a serious grudge against the captain of the Blackfoot High football team. When Maddy joins the school’s elite and powerful cheerleading squad, she convinces her new friends to help inflict her revenge. After a late-night party goes awry, their plans take an unexpected turn for the worst and all of the girls die. A sinister, supernatural power intervenes and the girls mysteriously appear at school the next day with a killer new look… and some unusual new appetites.

The folks at RLJ and Image Entertainment will drop the flick on May 8. Look for the horror/comedy on a VOD service in your neck of the proverbial woods, though a theatrical release is presently planned on June 13, 2014. Stars Caitlin Stasey, Sianoa Smit-McPhee, Brooke Butler, and Tom Williamson are no doubt hoping you’ll give “All Cheerleaders Die” a fair shot. Check out the latest promo poster below.

Author: Todd Rigney

Todd was raised on a steady diet of Hollywood blockbusters, late-night Cinemax programming, and USA’s “Up All Night,” which may explain why his taste in movies is more than a little questionable. When he isn’t providing news and reviews for Beyond Hollywood, he can be found lounging lazily on his couch, perched in front of his television, or dwelling in places where direct sunlight can be easily avoided. He's happily married, in his 30's, and totally badass. If you'd like to reach Todd, you can follow him on Twitter or send him email/scoops to todd (at) beyondhollywood.com.
