Or to be more specific, every actor wants to be the one fronting the new “Bourne” movie, “The Bourne Legacy” by writer/director Tony Gilroy. The film will be set in the world moviegoers are familiar with via the Matt Damon “Bourne” movies, but will feature a new actor in a new role.
Deadline says Gilroy has either met with these actors, or that the names are “in the mix”:
Joel Edgerton, Josh Hartnett, Jake Gyllenhaal, Tobey Maguire, Paul Dano, Michael Pitt, Oscar Isaac, Garrett Hedlund, Michael Fassbender, Luke Evans, Alex Pettyfer, Taylor Kitsch, Benjamin Walker
Wow, that’s a lot of names. Most of them are “it” names, like Hedlund, who for a while there was being sought for just about every movie, though that might have died down with the less-than-spectacular performance of “Tron: Legacy”.
I would personally love to see Fassbender do a badass contemporary role.
