New Prince of Persia Trailer, Now with Double the Gemma Arterton Cuteness

Via IGN, here’s the second full trailer for Jake Gyllenhaal’s “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time”. At first I thought Jake’s accent was a little too “try hard”, but then I heard Gemma Arterton’s and I realized, probably not so much. Check out the latest trailer for the Mike Newell-directed action-fantasy film, hitting theaters in May. They’re really pouring on the romance angle in this one. Then again, Gemma Arterton just looks so gosh-darn cute, doesn’t she?

Set in medieval Persia, the story of an adventurous prince who teams up with a rival princess to stop an angry ruler from unleashing a sandstorm that could destroy the world. Which is why after the prince was tricked by a dying Vizier to unleash the Sands of Time that turns out to destroy a kingdom and transforms its populace into ferocious demons. In his effort to save his own kingdom and redeem his fatal mistake, it’s up to the prince and the princess to return the sands to the hourglass by using the Dagger of Time, which also gives him a limited control over the flow of time.

Starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Ben Kingsley, Gemma Arterton, Toby Kebbell, Alfred Molina, Reece Ritchie, Richard Coyle, Gísli Örn Garðarsson, Steve Toussaint, and directed by Mike Newell.

Said it before, and I’ll say it again. Quite possibly the best videogame adaptation ever. I mean the sand effects alone are just crazy, and the parkour and action looks sick. I just hope they didn’t give away all the goods.
