Prince of Persia Trailer

The trailer for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, which aired on UK’s GMTV, is now up on Youtube, and if you ever wanted to know how many different sand effects can be fit into one movie, then you can find out below. It certainly looks a lot like a videogame in that it’s really overproduced and exciting, and at the very least it should be beautiful to look at. I’m talking about the effects, not shirtless Jake Gyllenhaal, who still doesn’t look Persian (personally, I thought that Faran Tahir would be great for the role, but he has no star power, and perhaps he’s too old for the part required).

(Swapped the trailer with the one that premiered on IGN. – Nix)

Jacob is shy. That's why he hasn't filled out his profile page yet. Hopefully he'll read this and decide to replace it with something else. If not, he'll never know I'm making fun of him in his profile. Heh heh. - Nix

I think that the movie will be heavily entertaining but for the life of me I cant understand why hollywood continues to cast white people in roles of different ethnicity instead of just getting an actor of that ethnicity. Most people say, because Jake gyllen-whatev will bring in more money, but I dont think he’ll bring in more money than some other super chiseled beautiful man of the right ethnicity.
Like i said, Ill see it because I do love Prince of Persia but its just getting old. No matter how much dirt and sweat you throw on him, He’s a white boy in the middle of Persia. By the way, he is a great actor in my opinion as well. I just dont know how much i can take of this crap. I would have loved to see the guy who played sayid in Lost play this role or the guy that jacob suggested. Good call.

Actually I think it’s because finding a good actor of the right ethnicity or close to it, the right age, the right look and with enough talent to bring moviegoers in. Using a no name actor who was Arabic or at least looked it would’ve probably been a good idea but would they have had the weight to carry the role? The two actors you’ve mentioned both look TOO OLD for the part, especially if they’re trying to start a franchise. Both are great actors, loved Sayid in “Planet Terror” but they just don’t lookthe part to me. Gyllenhal may not look persian, but he sure as hell looks like The Prince. I mean look at that pic from the top and put it next to the “PoP:Warrior Within” cover. http://wpcontent.answers.com/wikipedia/en/6/6f/Prince_of_Persia_-_Warrior_Within_Coverart.png Just not as dark. He’s a cross between the Sands of time Prince and the Warrior Within Prince.
