This has the look, violence and feel of the classic 1980s actioners in spades. Films like 'Commando', 'Rambo', etc. Simple story, whole lotta action and meat and potatoes style hand to hand fights. I was dismayed that it wasn't a success at the cinemas, but its to be expected when people are so used to seeing comic adaptations like 'Iron Man', 'Spider-man' or 'X Men', that are glitzier, filled with effects and have comparatively deeper stories. I enjoyed those films too, but old school action is back and this is the way Frank should be handled. No wacky neighbours, no giant Russians, no funny one-liners, no revenge plots involving fire hydrants. Just shoot first...and then shoot again. Finally.
