Put’em Up with This Star Trek 2 Set Fight Video (POTENTIAL SPOILERS)

Benedict Cumberbatch and Zachary Quinto on the set of Star Trek 2 (2013) Movie Image

POTENTIAL SPOILERS BELOW

Following up on those set pics of Zachary Quinto (Spock) and Benedict Cumberbatch (as the sequel’s new, mysterious, as-yet-unrevealed villain) brawling and Zoe Saldana wielding a phaaser on the set of J.J. Abrams’ untitled “Star Trek 2″, comes this video of the actual scene being shot on set. Please to enjoy.

The plot of the sequel? Who knows. As with all Abrams projects, they’re trying to hide it as long as possible, presumably because people knowing about the film’s general plot outline before the movie opens will destroy the universe as we know it. Expect lots of zooming spaceships, ridiculous use of lens flares, and Zoe Saldana looking hot in a short skirt.

The film also stars Chris Pine, Karl Urban, Anton Yelchin, Simon Pegg and John Cho. They are joined by newcomers Cumberbatch, Alice Eve, Peter Weller, and Noel Clarke. Look for it in the Summer of 2013.

The movie is sweeter when you just have enough information about it before release. I’m on board with that decition.

Quinto could be playing a Romulan – which would explain why he can go toe-to-toe with Spock. In the photo’s we don’t see any pointed ears on Quinto but, hey, this could be a rehearsal to get the fight scene right…or, in the film Quinto’s Romulan has been surgically altered to look human. I think we’ll see more Romulans…I bet they welcome the Vulcans to their society but are secretly planning to destroy the humans.

Sorry guys – in the above, instead of “Quinto” read “Cumberbatch” (…I must be more tired than I thought!) ;)
