Warner has released a new poster for Noam Murro’s upcoming “300: Rise of an Empire”, the sequel to Zack Snyder’s “300”, featuring Sparta’s ticked off Queen Gorgo. From the looks of the previously released trailers, the sequel appears to have all the style and pizzazz of the Snyder film. Of course, if you were one of those people who didn’t appreciate the style and pizzazz of the Snyder film, then you should probably avoid the sequel.
Here’s Lena Headey’s Queen Gorgo in a new poster. I’m not sure how big a role this is, but she sure is getting a lot of coverage. Isn’t this her second poster for the sequel?
Based on Frank Miller’s latest graphic novel Xerxes, and told in the breathtaking visual style of the blockbuster “300,” this new chapter of the epic saga takes the action to a fresh battlefield—on the sea—as Greek general Themistokles attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the course of the war. “300: Rise of an Empire” pits Themistokles against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes, and Artemisia, vengeful commander of the Persian navy.
Starring Sullivan Stapleton, Eva Green, Lena Headey, Hans Matheson, David Wenham, and Rodrigo Santoro.
Queen Gorgo demands revenge next year, March 17, 2014.
