Quick New TV Spot For The Walking Dead Season 3

Andrew Lincoln as Rick and Norman Reedus as Daryl in The Walking Dead Season 3

Season three of AMC’s massive zombie drama “The Walking Dead” is shuffling towards us like a decaying walker. We’re all very excited. New characters, grim story arcs, and the promise of ample undead action have fans practically frothing at the mouth. It’s unsightly. The network teases the upcoming season with a brief TV spot, that, while it doesn’t reveal anything, certainly sets a sinister tone.

Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), flashlight and pistol in hand, takes a quick peek behind a closed door in a darkened house. What does he find? We don’t get to see, but judging from Rick’s reaction, it isn’t anything pleasant.

“The Walking Dead” is only getting better. Season two ended on a high note, and the final few episodes are among the best in the series. Moving forward, the sky is the limit. The group of zombie apocalypse survivors is creeping towards an encounter with The Governor (David Morrissey), a brutal despot who rules over the survivalist enclave of Woodbury like a tyrant. His presence leaves deep, lasting scars on our heroes.

Another new character, Michonne (Danai Gurira), joins the crew. After surviving on her own since the beginning of the outbreak, Michonne takes badass to a whole new level. She has a samurai sword, nuff said. Some reports have main characters kicking the bucket, and it’s been confirmed that Merle (Michael Rooker) will make a return, his severed hand replaced with an interchangeable weapon of sorts. Daryl (Norman Reedus), his broher, is going to have some hard decisions to make. Things are looking good.

“The Walking Dead” returns to the airwaves on Sunday, October 14, 2012.

I have been waiting for Merle’s return for a long while. His replaceable arm reminds me of the current Army of Darkness comics in which Ash has an arsenal of weapons he has rigged up to attach to his amputated arm.
