Check out two new banner posters for Robert Schwentke’s “R.I.P.D.” To say that the first trailer for this movie didn’t exactly light the Internet up on fire is an understatement. Then again, I’m not sure if the first “Men in Black” trailer did, either, and look how that one turned out. (They’re already talking about doing a fourth installment.) “R.I.P.D.” is essentially “Men in Black” with ghosts, and from the looks of it, it’s just as silly and over-the-top. So, a good sign, perhaps?
We’ll find out soon enough when the film opens next month. Until then, get a gander at two new banner posters, ganderers.
Veteran sheriff Roy Pulsifer has spent his career with the legendary police force known as R.I.P.D. tracking monstrous spirits who are cleverly disguised as ordinary people. His mission? To arrest and bring to justice a special brand of criminals trying to escape final judgment by hiding among the unsuspecting on Earth. Once the wise-cracking Roy is assigned former rising-star detective Nick Walker as his junior officer, the new partners have to turn grudging respect into top-notch teamwork. When they uncover a plot that could end life as we know it, two of R.I.P.D.’s finest must miraculously restore the cosmic balance…or watch the tunnel to the afterlife begin sending angry souls the very wrong way.
Starring Ryan Reynolds, Jeff Bridges, Kevin Bacon, Mary-Louise Parker, Marissa Miller, Robert Knepper, James Hong, Mike O’Malley, Stephanie Szostak, Devin Ratray, and Larry Joe Campbell.
