Rachel Weisz to Expose U.N. Tomfoolery in The Whistleblower
The Whistleblower (2010) Movie — By Nix on May 6, 2009
Yes, you read that right, kids, it’s a political movie about cover-ups and conspiracies, but this time it’s not the eeeeeeeeeeeeevil American government doing the conspiracying or the cover-uping. Variety reports that Rachel Weisz is set to star in the indie thriller “The Whistleblower”, in which she’ll play a Nebraska law woman turned U.N. peacekeeper who discovers the cover-up of a sex trafficking scandal by the multi-national body in Bosnia.
Based on a screenplay by Larysa Kondracki (who will also make her directorial debut) and Ellis Kirwin, “The Whistleblower” will be based on the true story of Kathryn Bolkovac, who traveled to Bosnia in 1999 as a U.N. peacekeeper when she stumbled across the cover-up.
Stupid U.N., first they park anywhere they want, now they’re covering up sex scandals. What’s next, putting North Korea on the board of human rights? Um.
