Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman’s “Lovelace”, their bio pic on porn star Linda Lovelace, probably doesn’t have any actual sex in it, but that doesn’t mean the film (and by extension, this new UK trailer) can’t be a tad racy. So, yes, you should definitely watch the following trailer when your boss isn’t staring over your shoulder. You have been warned.
For those of you with no bosses in the office (or are sitting at home right now in your pajamas), feel free to take a look at the latest trailer for “Lovelace”, starring Amanda Seyfried as the ’70s adult film star who blew up the “blue” marketplace with her very special brand of, er, talents. Yeah, hard to get too deep into this movie without going blue ourselves, so let’s stop right there.
In 1972—before the internet, before the porn explosion—Deep Throat was a phenomenon: the first scripted pornographic theatrical feature film, featuring a story, some jokes, and an unknown and unlikely star, Linda Lovelace. Escaping a strict religious family, Linda discovered freedom and the high-life when she fell for and married charismatic hustler Chuck Traynor. As Linda Lovelace she became an international sensation—less centerfold fantasy than a charming girl-next-door with an impressive capacity for fellatio. Fully inhabiting her new identity, Linda became an enthusiastic spokesperson for sexual freedom and uninhibited hedonism. Six years later she presented another, utterly contradictory, narrative to the world—and herself as the survivor of a far darker story.
Starring Amanda Seyfried, Peter Sarsgaard, Hank Azaria, Wes Bentley, Adam Brody, Bobby Cannavale, James Franco, Debi Mazar, Chris Noth, Robert Patrick, Eric Roberts, Sharon Stone, Chloe Sevigny and Juno Temple.
Going blue this August 9th.
