Radha Mitchell Officially Returning to Silent Hill for Sequel

Hey, fans of the original. Guess what? Radha Mitchell, Sean Bean, and Deborah Kara Unger will all be reprising their roles from the first movie in the sequel.

“It wouldn’t be the same without some of the original Silent Hill cast”, says writer/director Michael J. Bassett, who is helming the sequel to “Silent Hill”, since titled “Silent Hill: Revelation 3D”.

There’s no word if Mitchell, Bean, and Unger will just be doing cameo appearances, but here’s the first official pic of Mitchell, the female lead from the first picture in the new movie (below). That’s Mitchell in the elevator looking out at Adelaide Clemens, the franchise’s new lead.

Silent Hill: Revelation 3D is based on the acclaimed survival horror videogame franchise by KONAMI and is the sequel to Hadida and Carmody’s earlier Silent Hill directed by Christophe Gans. For years, Heather Mason (Clemens) and her father have been on the run, always one step ahead of dangerous forces that she doesn’t fully understand. Now on the eve of her 18th birthday, plagued by terrifying nightmares and the disappearance of her father, Heather discovers she’s not who she thinks she is. The revelation leads her deeper into a demonic world that threatens to trap her in Silent Hill forever.

Clemens co-stars with “Game of Thrones'” Kit Harington.

“Revelation 3D” is scheduled for 2012.
