Plus, like you said he needs to work on his acting. I still think Scott Adkins (Weapon XI stunt double in Wolverine, Undisputed 2&3) would be a better choice. He's american, can act okay (yeah he'd need to work on it a bit), and he's a kick ass fighter. Dye his hair blonde and use the 7 Cities of Heaven storyline from the current series as a template with a little origin thrown in and there you go. Kung Fu goodness, mystical warriors, and great action and a pretty deep storyline.
