RDJ and Tina Fey in Dreamworks’ Master Mind

Written by Nix | August 27th, 2008 | 0 Comments |

I’m not really a fan of animation, in particular Hollywood animation. For some reason, I never seek them out, even though, once I sit down and watch them, I generally find myself liking them. For instance, “The Incredibles”. Easily one of the best superhero movies of all time, animated or not. Now Dreamworks is apparently looking at doing something similar — except their movie is called “Master Mind”, and it’s a story from the villain’s point of view. And they’ve got some big hitters on the project, too, with Ben Stiller producing, and Robert Downey Jr. and Tina Fey lending voice work.

Entertainment Weekly has your inside scoop:

The Iron Man star is in negotiations to voice a character in Master Mind, DreamWorks Animation’s send-up of the superhero genre being produced by Ben Stiller’s production company, Red Hour Films. Tina Fey is also expected to join the cast of the movie, about a villain who loses his will to live after accidentally killing his archrival. Neither actor is a newcomer to animation: Downey Jr. lent his voice to an episode of Family Guy and the Richard Linklater film A Scanner Darkly, while Fey voiced a burrito in the film version of Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Master Mind (the working title for now) is based on a script from Alan Schoolcraft and Brent Simons and will be directed by DreamWorks Animation veterans Cameron Hood and Kyle Jefferson.

Maybe this will be the “Incredibles 2″ we’ve all been waiting for — another superhero animated movie done right. Hey, if we can’t have the real thing, a nice facsimile from Dreamworks should just about do it, right? And I’m tired of waiting for “The Incredibles 2″…

The below picture has nothing to do with “Master Mind”, but are you complaining?
