Haha, silly turtle. It’s not your mask that has April O’Neil all faintin’ and such, it’s the fact that you’re, like, a 7-foot tall talking turtle. That, uh, knows kung fu. Silly, silly turtle.

Anyways, check out the first trailer for “Wrath of the Titans” director Jonathan Liebesman’s “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” reboot. The film hails from Michael Bay’s company, a fact that, no doubt, will be all over the advertising for this thing. So what do you think, kids? Is it the abomination you thought it would be, or is it a lot better than you expected?

The city needs heroes. Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April and her wise-cracking cameraman Vern Fenwick to save the city and unravel Shredder’s diabolical plan.

Starring Megan Fox, William Fichtner, Will Arnett, Alan Ritchson, Jeremy Howard, Noel Fisher, Pete Ploszek, and Danny Woodburn.

Someone order some pizza this August 8th.

Looks loads better than what I was expecting. The action and the turtles will at least be decent. And I love me some William Fitchner. Hopefully this new take will bring some of the insanity that in TMNT to the big screen. The current cartoon and the last series (all 3 shows) were very good. Also liking how they’re gear is cobbled together from stuff they’d fin on the street and in the trash. They have a slightly uniform look, but have individuality to them.

I’ll check it out when it comes out… on USA network in a few years. Lol. No Casey Jones, no thanks.
Also I want my April to be more like the pic below. She looks so… smart, yeah smart that’s it!

Man! Check out her, er, IQ!

You know now that I think about she was showing a lot of cleavage for an 80’s cartoon.

When I was a kid I watched for the turtles. When I became a teen I watched for those boobs.

I don’t need Casey Jones in the first film. It leaves something to add to the crew in the inevitable sequel.
Now that is an April. Though Megan Fox isn’t exactly ugly she definitely isn’t right for the part at all. SHE is the issue I have with the movie. Not Fitchner as SHredder, Giant CGI turtles or missing Casey. But I digress. Will probably still enjoy it.

Looks better than i was expecting also, i have a peeve with today’s movie producers. They keep trying to make things “accurate” like these look like turtles more than the ninja turtle style we’ve seen over the years. It doesnt have to be turtle per scale, the idea is what people are gonna watch it for. One case is the new nightmare on elm street. they made freddy look like a real burn victim and it wasnt at all scary like the old Englund freddy. /rant, might watch this movie in theaters, maybe with a second trailer.

See I have to disagree with you. The first 2 Nightmare films were genuinely scary, but less because of his look, than the what was going on. I thought Jackie Earl Haley as Fredy was much more disturbing. Between the look, with the hole in his cheek and all, his body language and delivery I was like “Ok this is just messed up!”
These new turtles still aren’t very accurate though, they don’t have the look that turtles have at all. They still look amphibious and not reptillian, they look like a more realistic version of the comic and cartoon characters. And by realistic I mean if you were to transport the characters to this real word the way they are portrayed in comics and cartoons, but making them fit in a real world setting.

        Fair Enough

If Michael Bay fucks up another of my childhood franchises there will be blood!

Looks exactly like I thought it would… I mean seriously, I nailed it in my head… now bring on all the inevItable endless nostalgic nods, i.e. krang, dimension X, bebop/ rocksteady, etc… I’m looking forward to this film.

    • http://www.beyondhollywood.com/ Dedpool

Yeah doubt we’ll get all of that right away, but I think they could pull off Bebop and Rocksteady now and make them actually dangerous. I’d love for Fitchener to be the Utrom Krang, from the 2002 show.
