Red Dawn Remake to Close Out Fantastic Fest

Dan Bradley’s long-delayed “Red Dawn” remake (remember when the stars of that film weren’t even stars yet?) won’t explode in your face until November 21, 2012, but if you happen to be in Texas (more specifically, Austin) on September 27th, then you’ll be able to catch the film almost a full month before anyone else does. Which means, yes, bragging rights.

That’s because the Fantastic Fest film festival has officially announced that “Red Dawn” will be their closing film of 2012, with stars Josh Peck and Adrianne Palicki in attendance. Wow. Adrianne Palicki. (And I guess Josh Peck, too.) That’s her with the mean looking machinegun in the new pic from “Red Dawn” above. I think the kid with her is Josh Hutcherson.

Fantastic Fest runs from September 20 – 27 down in Austin, Texas, and you can check out this year’s full line-up at their official site. Notable films on tap will include “The ABC’s Of Death”, “Dredd 3D”, “Frankenweenie”, “Looper”, and “Sinister”.

Meanwhile, where’s what you’ll be seeing if you make it down to Austin later this month:
