The teaser lurking at the bottom of this article is identical to the one released last week. Except, of course, for the English subtitles. Normally I wouldn’t go to out of my way to double-dip on one trailer, but Kim Jee-Woon and Yim Pil-Sung’s “Doomsday Book” looks pretty interesting. And, yes, it’s kind of weird how much the robot resembles the ones found in Alex Proyas’ “I, Robot”. For some strange reason, that doesn’t seem to bother me. Right now, anyway.
Anyway, here’s what the anthology is all about:
“Creation of Heaven” (Kim Jee-Woon) – A robot, which works at a temple, finds enlightenment. A robot repair man named Park Do-Won (Kim Kang-Woo) and a Bodhisattva Hye-Joo (Kim Gyu-Ri) then try to protect the robot from the robot company.
“Wonderful New World” (Yim Pil-Sung) – A pure young man (Ryoo Seung-Bum) turns into a zombie.
“Happy Birthday” (Kim Jee-Woon & Yim Pil-Sung) – A smart man (Song Sae-Byeok), who graduated from KAIST, begins to live with a robot.
“Doomsday Book” stars Kim Kang-Woo, Kim Gyu-Ri, Ryoo Seung-Bum, and Song Sae-Byeok. Look for the world to end this March. The aforementioned clip lies below.
