Resident Evil 4: Afterlife Confirmed for 2010
Horror Movie News, Resident Evil 4: Afterlife (2010) Movie — By Nix on July 9, 2009
As previously reported here, it appears Screen Gems and Sony have officially confirmed that we’ll be seeing the fourth installment in the undead “Resident Evil” franchise hit theaters by September 17th, 2010. The confirmation comes from Fangoria, who also says that Milla Jovovich will indeed be back as Alice, the franchise’s main character and star since the first.
The franchise has seen three movies so far: the original in 2002, the sequel, “Resident Evil: Apocalypse” in 2004, and more recently, “Resident Evil: Extinction” in 2007. Apparently calling the last one “Extinction” was premature, because the series will now continue on with “Resident Evil: Afterlife”.
Series producer Paul W.S. Anderson has made noise in the past about being already hard at work writing the script for “Afterlife”, and there are rumors he may return to direct it as well, having previously directed the first movie in the series.

michael jenkins… ur a dumbass. Would it not be uber boring to have the movie to be exatly like the game. If that were to happen, the gamers wouldnt be watching the movies n the movie itself will suck ass.
Hence the producers were smart enough to get the title of the game n then use is as a perfect supplement to the game series
wow i’m really super ewxcited about this movie seen already the first 3 and i’m looking forward to watch the 4th…
Love the movie series. I don’t care about it not exactly following the game, I don’t think the directors or producers had that intention. I’ve never played the games, I just love the movies.
I’ve played Resident Evil 1, 2, 4 (currently still have yet to finish 3)and I still love all three movies despite how much they deviate from the video games plot. That’s the thing about anime and video game adapted movies is if they screw with the plot (which you hope they don’t) then at the very least it can still be a good movie in general.
I can imagine that a lot of Resident Evil fans are probably pissed off at how different the movie is to the games but think about this… The movie isn’t that faithful to the games but it is still a good movie in general where as Dragon Ball fans like me had to suffer watching an adapted Dragon Ball movie that not only was completely unfaithful to the original source but it sucked as a movie as well. At least the Resident Evil movie franchise is popular enough to spawn 4 movies…. Can’t see that happening after watching the crap that is Dragon Ball Evolution.
Get a life…….
Some people are really retarded … Not only people that play the RE games watch the movies you know … Who gives a damn fuck about the fact that it doesn’t follow the game? If you don’t like the movies, then go back to your game and don’t come out again until you discover a world outside the linearity of your videogames.
Geez …
They’re doing a great job in the movies ^-^ And I like the games as well, and I’m glad to see that they’re a bit different from eachother. It would’ve been boring if it wasn’t =/
I’m with you man. I say when they get to the reboot, take parts from EVERYTHING RE (the films, the games, the new umbrella and darkside chronicles games on the WII ) and create a new story that follows the characters we’ve come to love from the universe that pays homage to the old, but with wholly new scenarios. Give me a story that shows what happens in between the games maybe.
