Resident Evil Afterlife Goes Into Production, More Character Info

Looks like the studio is anxious to get “Resident Evil 4: Afterlife” out there. The film is scheduled to go into production as early as this week up in Toronto, according to THR. As previously reported, Milla Jovovich returns as the franchise’s star, once again playing Alice, the zombie fighter turned superpowered chick (as seen in “Resident Evil: Extinction”). Also back is Heroes’ Ali Larter as Claire Redfield, one of the survivors that Alice befriends in the previous film.
The film will introduce new blood in Prison Break’s Wentworth Miller, who will be playing Claire Redfield’s brother, described as a fighter pilot. In the game, Claire’s brother was Chris Redfield, a STARS commando who uncovers Umbrella’s misdeeds. If I recall correctly, Chris has appeared in all the “Resident Evil” games, including the most recent, “Resident Evil 5″.
Boris Kodjoe and Kim Coates will also join the cast, as well as Shawn Roberts as the bad guy.
At the end of “Extinction”, Alice had declared her intentions of going on the offensive against the franchise’s villain, a corporation by the name of Umbrella. She also had about a gazillion clones running around, but maybe they’re going to ignore that part.
Paul W.S. Anderson, who wrote and directed the first “Resident Evil” movie in 2002, returns as writer and director on the fourth film, which will be shot and released in the very trendy 3D format. Look for the film in 2010.

Nix needs to do a little more research on the source material before speaking on it. Chris Redfield, yes is a name synonamis with the Resident Evil Series, But out of the Storyline games (6 total) he has only been in 3, A Main Character in RE:1, The second playable character in Re: Code Veronica, and the main character in RE5.
But after RE: land of the dead… I mean RE: 28 days later… I mean RE: extinction… why? You left it at a cliff hanger, but the only thing these movies have left to do with Resident Evil is the title and character names, The first movie had the fell of a RE game, Apocalypse in fused much more game elements into the movie (albeit very wrong) and the third, It could have been directed by Uwe Boll for all I could tell.

sounds good. but i can not wait to see them remake the films like the first video game like they plan on doing, and i think its going to be called resident evil begins, cant wait.

Hmmm, I’m glad that they’re going to finish the series. Too often there seem to be series that they just forget about and leave hanging. I really hope that they don’t disregard that bit with the clones at the end of the third movie, because I’d really like to see some clones messing with Umbrella Corp. personnel. Also, LEARN TO TYPE WITH DISTINCTION. Punctuation and clear thoughts = GOOD
Whatever happened to the idea of Jensen Ackles playing Leon and modeling the 4th movie after Resident Evil IV and just doing away with Milla and her character? To me, this is just going to be another one like the others. Okay but nothing special and talk about not following the games at all. I dont see how they can even use the name “Resident Evil” in the titles of these movies.
OMG!! I’m so excited that there will be a fourth movie. If Milla is not a character in this movie I will die. The guy that died in the last movie, “Carlos” is so hot. I can’t believe he died. I would love to see some ressurection from him. Dead or not, he has to be in this movie. I love the director for making this movie.
