I know what you’re thinking. “Looper”? What’s that? Sounds stupid. Um, no, it’s not. Check out this plot, disbeliever:
Joe is no ordinary hitman. The hooded, bound victims he kills are sent back in time from 30 years in the future: he shoots them with a blunderbuss, burns the bodies, and all trace of the crime disappears. Life is pretty good for Joe, until one day a body arrives without a hood: it’s his future self. And he’s not going down without a fight…
Pretty awesome, right? Not yet? Here’s more: Joseph Gordon-Levitt is playing young Joe, and Bruce Willis is playing old Joe (that’s him from the movie above, blasting away at what we can only assume are bad guys who had it coming). Still don’t think we’re dealing with some potentially good stuff here?
Here’s a pic of director Rian Johnson on the set of “Looper”, supposedly showing off his film’s time machine. I’m guessing here, of course, it could just be his vault at home since there isn’t much of an explanation to the pic. But it sure looks time machine-ish.
“Looper” co-stars Emily Blunt, Piper Perabo, Garret Dillahunt, Paul Dano, Jeff Daniels, and travels home September 28, 2012.
