Earlier today there was official news that Mark Wahlberg had signed on to star and produce a big-screen version of Richardo de Montriuil’s short film “The Raven”. Now here’s all six minutes of that short film (well, five minutes and a minute of closing credits, anyway) that was apparently so good Hollywood decided to give de Montriuil some serious mullah to make a big-screen version. The short apparently costed only $5,000 to make, with a script by Ricardo de Montreuil and Antonio Perez.
Chris Black possesses a power that could lead to the destruction of the current regime, and they will stop at nothing to destroy him. The chase is on as Chris runs for his life in this sci-fi thriller set in an alternate and futuristic Los Angeles.
I have to admit, de Montriuil clearly has a great eye for cinematic visuals. Aesthetically speaking, the short also kinda reminded me of “District 9″. If he can pull this off with just five grand, I can’t wait to see what he does with a full-blown Hollywood budget.
