A little money issue, it seems. According to TMZ (which is apparently covering movie news now, besides all their usual stories of celebrities, you know, walking and going in and out of restaurants and all those other banal nonsense that apparently people really, really love knowing about for God knows whatever reason) the movie’s Montreal set has been shut down due to non-payment.
TMZ spoke with Michel Trudel — the owner of the Montreal studio where the new movie is being shot — who tells us he changed the locks and kicked everyone off the set Wednesday because the production company, One Race Films, has failed to pay up on time.
Meanwhile, Bloody-Disgusting says that the movie, not to be deterred, is still casting, with offers going out to Andreas Apergis, Katee Sackhoff, Bokeem Woodbine, and WWE wrestler Dave Bautista for roles in the third movie.
Apergis is up for the role of Krone, commander of something called “the dark theocracy”, while former “Battlestar Galactica” darling Sackhoff would pay Dahl, one of the mercs tracking Vin Diesel’s Riddick. No word on who Woodbine or the wrestler is up for.
Since the movie is still casting, and making offers to actors, it stands to reason the whole hullabaloo with the Montreal set would get fixed soon enough. Hopefully, anyway.
