Ridley Scott and Casey Affleck are the Kind One(s)

It seems a month doesn’t go by that I don’t hear Ridley Scott’s name attached to direct a movie. He’s still working on “Body of Lies” with Leonardo DiCaprio (it’s due out this Fall), but Scott has already lined his next project. His latest is a 1930s period gangster film called “The Kind One”, in which Scott (pictured, left) would direct Casey Affleck as an amnesiac who goes to work for a mobster killing people. The period movie will be based on a novel by Tom Epperson, who will also write the screenplay. Ridley Scott and Jules Daly will produce the movie for Warner Brothers.

Normally I would say that this thing should be good because Ridley Scott on a violent film is good stuff, but I think this might be good because of Casey Affleck (pictured, below). The guy is really coming into his own as an actor, and this is the kind of role that he should excel in. Who knew that he would be the Affleck to watch out for, and not Ben?

Although I could have done without the falling in love with the thug’s girlfriend part. That is so generic and predictable…
