Robert Rodriguez Officially Rebooting Predator, Making Machete

“Screw your film school!” poster boy Robert Rodriguez hasn’t made a movie since 2007’s ill-fated “Grindhouse”, although he’s been attached to about a thousand movies since. I kid, I kid. But it sure seems like the Rod is attaching his name to a lot of movies that don’t seem anywhere close to happening. And with “Sin City 2” looking lost in Hollywood, it’s anybody’s guess what he’ll end up making first — a reboot of the “Predator” franchise, which has been officially confirmed today, or a feature-length version of “Machete” with Danny Trejo.

Who is Danny Trejo, you ask? You know all those action movies? Danny is the mustached dude with the wrinkly face, beady eyes, and the most “Don’t even THINK about effin’ with me” look you’ve ever seen in your life. That’s Danny Trejo. The fanboys love him, the women want to be with him, and the men pray he doesn’t break into their house.

Confirmation of Rodriguez rebooting the “Predator” franchise comes via Variety, who also lists Rodriguez as co-director on a “Machete” movie starring Danny Trejo with his longtime film editor Ethan Maniquis.
