Eh, you can keep your big-budget, Ridley Scott-directed, Russell Crowe-starring “Robin Hood”, for my money there won’t be a better Robin Hood movie than The Sci Fi Channel’s “Robin Hood: Beyond Sherwood”. Okay, maybe that won’t be entirely true, but you know, there’s a lot of fun to be found here. A lot of fun in the sense that it will probably be awful. I mean, WTF, Robin Hood is battling a monster in this movie!
Says Robin Dunne, the star of “Robin Hood: Beyond Sherwood” to SciFiWire:
“There’s a monster that is being used as a weapon by the sheriff in order to control things,” Dunne said in an exclusive interview last week. “Robin is left to try and stop this monster. It’s not a classic creature in the sense it’s pure evil; it’s actually a girl that has been transformed, so Robin has to preserve this life that has been morphed. It was an interesting film to do. Robin Hood is a character I’ve always wanted to play, and such an iconic archetype.”
Peter DeLuise, of 21 Jump Street fame (but nowadays is more notable for his Stargate: SG1 days) will be directing. Robin Dunne stars alongside Erica Durance (of Smallville) fame.
And unlike SciFiWire, which was probably obligated to make a post on the movie because they’re owned by The Sci Fi Channel, I’m just making this post so I can post the below picture of Erica Durance. Yes, we’re easy that way.
