Wowsers. Look at this cast: Christopher Walken, Mickey Rourke, Colin Farrell, and Sam Rockwell. That is a pretty damn fine cast right there, folks. Put them all in a movie together and how could you go wrong? Okay, plenty of ways for the whole thing to fall off the tracks, but it could also go oh so right, too.
All four actors are joining forces for a new black comedy called “Seven Psychopaths” for “In Bruges” director Martin McDonagh. The plot goes thusly:
Story follows a screenwriter (Farrell) struggling for inspiration for his script, “Seven Psychopaths,” who gets drawn into the dog kidnapping schemes of his oddball friends (Rockwell and Walken). Things take a turn for the worse when a gangster’s (Rourke) mutt goes missing.
The film reunites not only the director and star of “In Bruges”, but also the producing team. HanWay, the outfit fronting “Seven Psychopaths”, is currently selling it over at Cannes, where pretty much any and every deal that’s gonna happen this year is currently happening.
