Rosario Dawson has joined the cast of Brad Peyton’s moderately budgeted horror outing “Incarnate”, which is set to star Aaron Eckhart as an exorcist.
The movie, from Blumhouse Pictures (the same folks who gave you the “Insidious” pics), will be a small budgeted affair. Well, in production terms, anyway. In terms of marketing, it’ll probably double or triple its production budget. Gotta get the flick out there, ya know?
The film will star Eckhart as “an unconventional exorcist with the ability to tap into the subconscious of the possessed who meets his match when a 9-year-old boy is possessed by a demon from his past”. Don’t you hate it when that happens?
No word on what character Dawson would play in the film, but given that she’s leading lady material, I’m guessing she’s the leading lady in this one, too. She previously starred in Danny Boyle’s “Trance”, and has Robert Rodriguez’s “Sin City” sequel on tap.
“Incarnate” is being touted as a potential new franchise. Which is to say, it’ll be a new franchise if you go out to see it when it opens next year. If you don’t, then it’s a one and doner.
The film will shoot in November this year for a 2014 release.
