For some reason I expected this first trailer for Andy Muschietti’s “Mama”, based on his own short film, to be a lot scarier. Or at least, a lot creepier. I mean, did you see that short film he did? (Watch it here.) That thing was creepy as hell. Except for the fact that Jessica Chastain is practically unrecognizable with dark hair and sporting some crazy looking tattoos, the big-screen version of “Mama” looks like a PG-13 teenage horror movie, which is to say, not really a horror movie. I mean, the scariest thing about mama in “Mama”? Those unkempt hair of hers. Talk about filthy! But hey, don’t take my word for it. Check out the first trailer for “Mama” yourself. Maybe you’ll have better luck with it than I did.
