Paul Walker’s death was not only a tragedy, but it caused a lot of scrambling in Hollywood. Not only on the “Fast and Furious” franchise, where Walker was a major presence in the cast, but also on a number of projects he was supposed to star in.
One of those films is a sequel to the 2007 movie “Hitman” called “Agent 47″. Walker was supposed to star, but now that he’s passed, the producers have brought onboard “Homeland” actor Rupert Friend to take over the role of the elite assassin.
Walker was supposed to follow up on the character originally played by “Justified’s” Timothy Olyphant six years ago, the film originally scheduled to go into production once Walker wrapped his duties on “Fast and Furious 7.”
No word yet on the plot of “Agent 47,” though the movie, like the previous iteration, will star Friend as a bald assassin with a barcode who goes around doing what assassins do — you know, kill people and stuff.
Aleksander Bach is directing the film from a script by Kyle Ward, Skip Woods and Michael Finch.
