Ryan Gosling’s Drive Has Just Gotten a Lot More, Um, Top Heavy

Christina Hendricks is one of the stars of AMC’s critically acclaimed show “Mad Men”, and she’s also, um, she’s very, you know, talented.

What I’m trying to say is, Christina Hendricks has been cast in Nicolas Winding Refn’s crime pic “Drive”, which will star Ryan Gosling and Carey Mulligan, and co-star Albert Brooks, Bryan Cranston and Oscar Isaacs.

“Drive’s” plot goes something like this:

Based on James Sallis’ crime novel of the same name and adapted by scribe Hossein Amini, “Drive” revolves around a Hollywood stunt drive (Gosling) who moonlights as a getaway driver in L.A.’s criminal underworld. He finds himself a target after agreeing to aid the ex-con boyfriend of his beautiful neighbor (Mulligan) in a job that goes dangerously awry. The only way he can keep her safe and stay alive is to do what he does best: drive.

Shooting on “Drive” is expected to begin later this month on location in Los Angeles.

No word on what role Christina Hendricks will play, though calling Mulligan the “beautiful neighbor” seems like a stretch, but maybe that’s just me being superficial. She’s no Christina Hendricks (below), that’s for sure.
