Let’s hope this works out better than “Green Lantern” and “The Change-Up”, or else Ryan Reynolds may never get that “Deadpool” movie made, and dammit, I want my “Deadpool” movie!
Anyhoo. Reynolds’ “R.I.P.D.” is currently in negotiations with actress Stephanie Szostak (“Dinner for Schmucks”, “The Devil Wears Prada”) to play Reynolds’ wife in the movie.
The film will find Reynolds playing a murdered cop who is teamed up with Jeff Bridges in a supernatural police force tasked with battling “spirits unready to depart this world”. Basically, ghostbusting ghosts. Szostak’s character is the only one who can “sense that [Reynolds' character] is still around and to whom he is trying to communicate with in regards to his murder.”
Robert Schwentke, who last directed the comic book movie “Red”, will direct “R.I.P.D.”, with the film currently scheduled for sometime in 2013.
