You wouldn’t know it by looking at the guy, but Ryan Reynolds loves him some comic book movies. After obsessing over The Flash and Deadpool, and finally landing the Green Lantern, Reynolds is now looking at another comic book property to put his geek stamp on: Dark Horse Comics’ horror-themed “R.I.P.D.”.
The sure to be CGI-heavy film would star Reynolds as a dead cop tasked with patrolling the underworld post-death. It’s a tough job, but someone’s gotta do it.
The film was all set to go into production with McG directing, but the G-ster has since opted for “This Means War” with Chris Pine and Tom Hardy instead, leaving the director’s chair open for “Red” director Robert Schwentke, who always wanted the gig in the first place, according to the LATimes.
Schwentke still has to do the promo rounds for “Red”, his comic book action/comedy with Bruce Willis, and of course Reynolds is waist deep in intergalactic alien cops in “Green Lantern”.
