It’s beyond me why no one in Hollywood has been smart enough to suit Ryan Reynolds up in the red tights and yellow thunderbolts as Wally West, aka The Flash, and have a go at it. They’ve got a bankable movie star DYING to play the role, and the CGI to pull off the special effects (don’t even get me started on the crappy CGI on the TV series from the ’90s), and yet — and yet — NO FLASH MOVIE!!! Why, Hollywood, why haven’t you given me a Flash movie yet??? Well, maybe there is hope. MTV recently talked to Reynolds about the dead Flash movie and the upcoming Justice League movie, and here’s what he had to say…
“”˜The Flash’ isn’t dead at all. There’s talk of it being a JLA movie, the Justice League having them all together. And then there’s other talk of doing a “˜Flash’ movie with [director] Shawn Levy.”
Ah, that rumor with Levy and the Flash movie. Eh, I don’t think it’s gonna happen.
When asked if he thought the JLA film might happen first, Reynolds told us, “[it] might, yeah. I don’t really know how much I’m allowed to talk about that stuff. But I’m sure they’ll figure out something. It’s no secret that they have a JLA script and it’s a project that’s in development — the contents of which, who knows. We’ll see.”
Maybe the idea of a guy who can run really fast just intrigues me, but I really want to see the Flash in the JLA movie — if one ever gets made. I’m still not sure…
