Sacha Baron Cohen Retires Borat and Ali G
Sacha Baron Cohen, the “brains” behind Borat and Ali G, tells the newspaper The Daily Telegraph that he’s decided to “retire” his two most famous (or is that infamous?) creations. Borat, as you’ll recall, was the “star” of a major Hollywood hit, the eponymously titled “Borat”, and for a while there, Ali G had his own TV show, “Da Ali G Show”.
Says Cohen about his decision:
“When I was being Ali G and Borat I was in character sometimes 14 hours a day and I came to love them, so admitting I am never going to play them again is quite a sad thing,” the 36-year-old actor-comedian says in the British newspaper’s Friday edition.
“It is like saying goodbye to a loved one. It is hard, and the problem with success, although it’s fantastic, is that every new person who sees the Borat movie is one less person I `get’ with Borat again, so it’s a kind of self-defeating form, really.”
Considering that “Borat” made a boatload of money, I guess it’s fair to say that Borat has plenty of fans. Now those fans will just have to find another foreign jackass to love. That shouldn’t be too hard…

Wow, maybe you should think about retirering your dumbass, redneck, foreign-hating personality as well, sir!?
B-b-but my “dumbass, redneck, foreign-hating personality” is my bread and butter!
