Sam Worthington Talks Green Lantern

Good God, is there a big-budget summer event film that Hollywood is currently doing that Aussie boy turned good Sam Worthington isn’t rumored to be in or already attached to? Mind you, dude looks like a fine chap, so it’s not like I’m complaining. More power to him. The latest role ol Sammy’s attached to in some capacity or another is Warner Bros.’ live-action adaptation of the D.C. comic book “Green Lantern”. From the sounds of it, Worthington is really considering the project, and if he says Yes, what’s to prevent WB from going with him? This guy’s about to blow up like no actor has ever blown up before in Hollywood.

In an interview with Moviehole, Worthington said this in regards to the role:

‘’I’ve been talking to (director) Martin Campbell about it. It’s one of those things where they’re still doing the script. I said, “Give me a script. Let me have a look at it.” I like Martin a lot. I met him on the Bond stuff, and I like his work, but the second step is, “Is it a movie that I’d go and see?” ‘’

So there you have it. I don’t see Warner Bros. going with a relative unknown and ignoring Worthington if he wants in. Also, the fact that the movie has been delayed, and will eventually shoot in Australia (Worthington’s backyard), just means more time for Worthington to finish up “Clash of the Titans” and segue right into “Green Lantern”.

Below: “So, wait, can the ring create me a new face? Cause this one’s looking, er, metal.”
