Sammo Hung is NOT Dead

Apparently over the weekend there was a Japanese report (citing a Chinese online newspaper site) that legendary Hong Kong actor Sammo Hung (”Sha Po Lang”, among many, many movies of note) had died. The boys over at Kaiju Shakedown blogged about it, but guess what? He’s not dead. Oops?

it looks like the Chinese press mis-reported the story. Apparently Sammo Hung is very much alive and is extremely angry about the rumor. He received close to 1000 phone calls yesterday morning asking him if he was dead.

Heh. I’d be pissed, too.

“It was you, wasn’t it? You spread those rumors! Damn you!”
