Apparently in the pantheon of actors, Samuel L. Jackson is just below Tom Cruise and Leonardo DiCaprio. Or at least, in director Matthew Vaughn’s eyes. After failing to nab Cruise or DiCaprio for his upcoming adaptation of the comic book “The Secret Service”, Vaughn has settled for Samuel L. Jackson.
No specifics on Samuel L. Jackson’s role were given, just that he will be the film’s main villain.
The movie, based on a comic book by Mark Millar, will star relative newcomer Taron Egerton, who will play a young kid from the streets who is trained to become Britain’s latest super spy by Colin Firth. Michael Caine is also rumored to be in the cast.
Vaughn is now looking to cast the film’s young female lead, with “Harry Potter’s” Emma Watson and “Dark Shadows'” Bella Heathcote in the running.
“The Secret Service” is set to shoot this Fall.
