Well this news would certainly suck if it ends up being true. One of the best things about “Prison Break”, besides all the crazy and totally unbelievable plots, was watching the oh so lovely Sarah Wayne Callies trying to make sense of it all. Now TV Guide is reporting that FOX has nixed Callies’ return to the show’s upcoming Season 3. Not only that, but her name doesn’t appear in the credits of the first two episodes of Season 3, and that a body double was used in a single scene we did see of her (I think in the premiere episode). I’m not sure, but didn’t I see Callies in the premiere episode, holding a gun to Lincoln, during the trailer for the premiere?

Here’s what TV Guide said:

OK, now you worrywarts have something to wring your hands about: The Ausiello Report has just learned that after giving birth, Sarah Wayne Callies is not returning to Prison Break after all.

Shocking, right? Especially given the way the actress’ manager has been insisting for weeks that her client would be back. (The words “pants on fire” come to mind.)

We already knew that Callies was MIA from the opening credits in the first two episodes and that, for the one scene in which Dr. Sara appeared, a body double was used

It seems pretty concrete, especially since TV Guide has never been wrong before as far as I know. But then someone sent this to JustJared in an attempt to refute the report:

A publicist for FOX just issued a statement exclusively to JustJared.com: “Actually — the network and studio has not confirmed that Sarah Wayne Callies has departed the series this season. Dr. Sara Tancredi plays a significant part in the storyline this year.”

So the studio hasn’t confirmed that Callies is gone, or why, but makes it a point to say the Sara character remains a big part of the show. Hmm. Maybe they’re going to dangle a missing Sara Tancredi, make it the impetus for Michael to escape from the Panama jail or something. Then again, why does the report say she’s not returning to the show?

I’m so confused and sadden.
