Presumably because coming right out and telling audiences that this is the seventh entry in a decrepit horror movie franchise that should have ended two sequels ago is not exactly the best way to attract new customers, Lionsgate has done the wise thing and changed the title of “Saw 7” to “Saw 3D: The Traps Come Alive”. It makes sense, if you think about it: this is a “Saw” movie, and it is in 3D, and in the film, the trap sorta looks like they’re coming alive when you wear those 3D glasses. See? Genius!
As a deadly battle rages over Jigsaw’s brutal legacy, a group of Jigsaw survivors gathers to seek the support of self-help guru and fellow survivor Bobby Dagen, a man whose own dark secrets unleash a new wave of terror.
Starring Tobin Bell, Cary Elwes, Costas Mandylor, Betsy Russell, Sean Patrick Flanery, Gina Holden, and directed by Kevin Greutert.
“Saw 7” — er, I mean, “Saw 3D: The Traps Come alive” — comes alive October 22.
